Dominican Sisters of Hawthorne
Sanctity of Life
"One soul is as fair and precious as another; there is no exception." Mother Mary Alphonsa, O.P. Foundress

We believe in and witness to the sanctity of life until natural death and uphold the teachings of the Catholic Church.  In our apostolate, we seek to bring Christ to those approaching the end of life by providing care and comfort, both physically and spiritually.  At the same time, we seek to find and serve Christ in the poor suffering from incurable cancer.

"Those who seek our care come to us often bearing the double cross of poverty and pain. Through our unselfish and solicitous concern for those whom we are called to serve, they find the God who loves them and has prepared a place for them in heaven." (Our Constitutions C116)

We have put together a list of resources to help you learn and understand the teachings of the Catholic Church with regards to end of life issues...

"See in each sufferer our Lord Jesus Christ. Remember... they have the image of God in their souls." Mother Mary Rose, O.P Co-foundress
